Arrived In Myanmar

Hi All,

We arrived safely in Yangon on Dec 26 at 1145 pm, and taken to a hotel near the airport.  

On Saturday morning, we took a short stroll around the hotel.  We the  took another bus to meet our group and had lunch, followed by a tour later in the afternoon of the amazing Shwedagon Pagoda in central Yangon.  After dinner we were told that we would spend 3 days in a monastery helping with the painting for one of those days.  We are off this morning to the Golden Rock Pagoda, about 4.5 hours from here by bus and open truck.  

Sorry no pictures, as we had to pack away the technology as we are only allowed 1 backpack each for the next 4 days.

And So We Begin Anew

Hi All,

We have set up this travel blog to track our travels through Myanmar (Burma), Vietnam, and Cambodia.

We will post as often as possible, recognizing that we will have limited internet access, particularly in Myanmar as we travel to remote locations, monasteries and religious sites.

This first post is really to test out our capabilities to post blogs and (later) pictures.
